Welcome to Schomberg Hypnosis. Using Hypnosis to Effect Change.
What is hypnosis
Hypnosis is a heightened state of awareness that allows positive suggestion to speed up the learning process. In other words, hypnosis helps you take the necessary actions to get beyond your barriers to success. Your adventure in hypnosis can produce success by overcoming negative habits and limitations learned long ago.
You Can Change Unwanted Habits NOW!
Hypnosis is a method by which we can alter our state of awareness, allowing us to focus on issues or ideas of our choosing. Hypnosis is a tool which we can utilize o enhance or enable whatever we set our minds to accomplish. We can use this tool to build self-esteem and confidence, add clarity and a sense of control to our lives. In the hypnotic state we can access the subconscious mind to implement, at the most effective level, the changes we desire.
Imagine the mind and body as a computer, with storage, retrieval and operating systems which we use in measuring, evaluating and directing all we do. Consider the conscious mind as our input device, the subconscious mind as the hard drive with the programs running and the critical faculty as the link between them. If the input isn't in accord with the program which is running, the critical faculty will not allow it to be connected - sorry, wrong number!
To facilitate effective change in our lives we must alter the programming, to accomplish that, we bypass the critical faculty of the mind.
Hypnosis is the bypass of the critical faculty of the mind!
Relaxation is considered a luxury by many people. This is simply NOT TRUE! We require relaxation to function well, maintain health and retain flexibility, both mentally and physically.
Just as tension reduces the circulation of blood, which impairs the physical healing process, tension also causes a restriction in the flow of energy on all levels of our being. Whatever your beliefs concerning the different levels of our being, it is clear that any restriction I the flow of energy may not serve our highest needs. Relaxation is the method by which we release restrictions o all levels and is our first step in the healing process.
While tension may affect us on many different levels and in differing degrees, we experience two basic types of tension.
INTENTIONAL
Physical exertion and mental concentration are short-term, goal oriented applications of our potentials.
UNINTENTIONAL
These tensions may be habitual responses or reactions to our situation, engaging the fight or flight instinct. Fear for survival or the anticipation of negative consequences are the basic motivators in these reactions.
Fear causes tension;
Tension causes disease;
Is relaxation optional?
We have been blessed with an instinct for survival called Fight or Flight. This instinct has aided us to survive and evolve as a species. In our lives we analyze and react to every event we encounter. Our ability to do this varies with each person and changes with mood, experience, etc.
When we choose to relax, we must feel safe within the environment and confident with our abilities. I suggest we allow ourselves to relax to the degree appropriate to the situation, as this immediately confirms our abilities and the safety of the situation.
While driving, we relax physically, allowing our minds to focus on the task of driving, fully alert and able to respond quickly and correctly to any situation.
While waiting in line at the store we can deal with impatience by using the time for relaxation and allowing ourselves enhanced energy for life.
When we release energy restrictions at any level, we regain the use of that energy to focus toward our goals and we gain a certain peace in the increasing awareness of our abilities
The practice of promoting healing or positive development in any way is known as Hypnosis. Hypnosis aims to re-programme patterns of behaviour within the mind, enabling irrational fears, phobias, negative thoughts, and suppressed emotions to be overcome. As the body is released from conscious control during the relaxed state of hypnosis, breathing becomes slower, deeper the conscious control of the mind is inhibiter and the subconscious mind is awoken. Since the subconscious mind is a deeper more instinctive force, than the conscious mind, this is the part of the mind which can change for the patients behaviour and physical state to alter. Progress and success can be made by reprogramming the subconscious so the deep-seated instincts and believe are abolished or altered.
